Who are the Reptile Rangers?
You are a Reptile Ranger!
Reptile Rangers play an important role helping Reptiles Alive protect reptiles, wildlife, and our environment.
What do Reptile Rangers do?
1. Reptile Rangers learn as much about animals, nature, and science as possible by:
* Attending animal and nature education programs.
* Reading books about nature, wildlife, science & more.
* Paying attention in school and doing your best to excel at math, science, reading and writing.
* Spending time observing wildlife in the wild.
* Keeping a nature journal and taking pictures of wildlife and nature.
2. Reptile Rangers respect & protect animals and the environment by:
* Leaving wildlife in the wild (no capturing animals to keep as pets) – and leaving the wild in wildlife (no feeding or bothering wildlife.)
* Telling an adult to contact animal control or a licensed wildlife rescue group if you find an injured animal. Never try to touch a wild animal or a sick or injured pet.
* Not littering and picking up trash others have left behind.
* Reducing waste, reusing what you can, and recycling everything possible.
3. Reptile Rangers teach others how to protect and respect reptiles and other wildlife by:
* Teaching your friends and family with your own actions.
* Writing papers in school about reptiles and nature.
* Volunteering at a nature center, zoo, aquarium, or animal shelter helping to educate visitors about the animals or caring for the animals.
Why are Reptile Rangers important?
Wild places are disappearing. More animal species are becoming endangered. Many people watch animal shows on TV, but they still don’t understand why wildlife and a healthy environment are so important.
Reptile Rangers understand. Because Reptile Rangers have taken the time to learn about reptiles and other animals, they know how important wildlife conservation is to all life on Earth, including humans.
