Habitat: Dry grasslands, rocky steppes, semi-desert, and oasis.

Natural Diet: Insects, greens, grasses, fruit, berries.

Size: 13 - 18 inches.

Lifespan: 20+ years

Reproduction: Females lay 3-20 eggs under moist sand and coil around them for the 6 weeks of incubation

Conservation:  Most pet lizards are improperly cared for and die young.  All pet reptiles require a huge investment of time and money.  Care includes a perfect understanding of natural environment and diet.  Proper equipment even for a small reptile can run into the hundreds. Temperature, lighting, and humidity must be checked Daily!  Not an easy pet to care for.
