RA Diet:  crickets, mealworms, earthworms, greens, vegetables, and fruit

Range: Southern Africa

Habitat: Semi-arid grasslands around rock piles and especially termite mounds.

Natural Diet:  Insects, especially termites, vegetation

Size: 16 - 28 inches.

Lifespan: 20+ years

Reproduction: Lay 2-6 eggs that hatch in three to four months.  Often lay eggs in termite mounds where the temperature stays around 85 degrees.

Conservation: Pet trade is decimating populations in many areas.
