Range: Southern Delaware south to Northern Florida.

Habitat: Deciduous forests, farm fields, swamps, abandoned barns.

Natural Diet: Snakes, lizards, birds and rodents.

Size: 24-36 inches.

Lifespan: 20+ years

Reproduction: Lays 2-20 eggs.

Notes: Eastern Kingsnakes will eat other snakes including Copperheads, Cottonmouths, and Rattlesnakes.

Scientists believe the kingsnake is immune to the venom of the snakes found in its own range, so if a kingsnake is bitten, the venom will not harm it.
