Range: Eastern United States.

Habitat: Forests, farmland, swamps, up to 4,000 feet.

Natural Diet:  Eggs, small mammals, birds, and lizards.

Size: 42-72 inches, record 101 inches

Lifespan: 15+ years

Reproduction: Breed April-June also in fall. Lay 5-30 eggs that hatch in 90 days.

Conservation: These snakes are harmless and extremely beneficial in rodent and pest control.
