Range: Northeast United States and north into Canada.

Habitat: Found nearly anywhere there is shallow water in which to breed. They are nocturnal.

Size: Grows to 2-3.5 inches.
Largest on record: 4 and 3/8inches.

Lifespan: Can live up to ten years.

Reproduction: Breeds March-July, Eggs are laid in long strands.

Conservation: Toads provide pest control, eat a huge amount of insects daily.

Cool Facts: Toads secrete a milky fluid as a defense, which irritates mucus membranes such as mouth and eyes. Toad skin is dry and rough with bumps. You can't get warts from toads. Some toads even live in the desert, and can go for long periods of time without water.
